PERGENTINA stands in the beating heart of green Casentino, at the foot of the majestic Casentino Forest National Park. Here, nature dances in harmony with a unique microclimate and clay-limestone soils, creating an extraordinary terroir, the perfect cradle for great wines that tell of the beauty and soul of this land.
In 2023, after a year and a half of dedication and dreams turned into reality, our winemaking cellar was born, a place where functionality and refinement blend harmoniously. The structure, largely underground, breathes with the earth, enveloped in perfect temperatures and humidity, creating an ideal environment to guard the magic of wine.
These principles are the beating heart that gave life to our winery.
Here, in Casentino, every hill, every row tells an ancient story of toil and beauty, handed down for generations. We have chosen to protect and enhance this unique land, made up of enchanting landscapes, generous soils and a microclimate that embraces and protects our vineyards.
Each of our wines is a tribute to this land, a story in a bottle that speaks of authenticity, deep roots and the future.
01
The vineyard extends over 4.5 hectares, lying at 450 meters above sea level with a South and South-West exposure. The soils, divided into 4 parcels, have a heterogeneous clay-limestone texture rich in skeleton, ideal for the cultivation of fine grapes.
02
The vines are grown with two different methods, spurred cordon and guyot, chosen based on the characteristics of the soil, the vine and the exposure. With a planting pattern of 2.20 x 0.70 meters and a density of about 6,500 plants per hectare, agricultural management is designed to maximize quality.
03
The high planting density pushes the roots of the vines to explore the soil deeply, ensuring better resistance to water shortages. This approach reduces the number of bunches per plant, thus increasing the quality, intensity and complexity of the wines produced.
Casentino offers an ideal microclimate for fresh and long-lived wines. With passion and respect for the territory, we select fine grapes and take care of every phase, from vinification to aging, to guarantee quality and authenticity in every bottle.
